I do differ from your views, though. As far as I'm concerned we're meat machines. When I die, my brain shuts down and "I" cease to be, the neural activity that was "me" stops functioning, and my body starts to rot. No souls, no afterlife, that's my guess. Certainly no ... ghosts.

That is my view as well. I don't even believe in true "free will".

Humans are made of matter -- so governed entirely by physics and chemical reactions with no chance for randomness -- and, for all of our complications, our behaviors and actions are merely the inevitable foreseeable result of the Big Bang.

Is there a "me" or an "I" -- of the trillions of cells that make up a person, none of them are "me", but somehow the collective has consciousness -- which is really damn cool.

I agree. Even the show Ghost Hunters couldn't display any real facts which is probably why I can't seem to find a listing for it anymore. The guys were funny though which kept my interest. The next pole should be about Psychics maybe???

Ghosts exists, you just can't see them. Since I'm a Spiritualist, I belive in spirits/ghosts or whatever you call it.
