Lack of non-Quake threads

6 months ago there were a ton of non-Quake threads everywhere. Now almost no one ever starts them.

These topics as of lately .. while they have helped some ppl I'm sure .. have been boring

Phenom, I hate to correct you but this statement is so totally wrong in so many ways.

Everyone has roles.

I haven't written a line of engine code (yet), have barely written any non-trivial QuakeC, have written almost no PHP for this site, I don't run any servers "firsthand" and I could go on and on.

There is a strong tendency to assign credit to a visible face, but it is wrong.

Everything we have in Quake was made by a mountain of different people contributing things. And most of us, except possibly excluding the exceptionally capable types like LordHavoc (and even he gets help from others) are either mostly adding some bricks on top of that mountain or working with someone elses work with an angle on how to improve it.

I've had help from others on so many different occasions that I've lost track and I make threads from time to time mentioning that (which mostly seem like boring threads to most people and get ignored).

Mindz has always been the guy that enthusiastically backs people up and trusts them even when he isn't quite sure what is going on and if weren't for people like Mindz (and yourself) I doubt others would feel as motivated to do things.
