The true evil is wiggling it's pretty little head around the corner. This will happen once Broadband services reach a level of throughput that warrants no further advances. That is to say when they have no need to get any faster.
Then it's "Hello, Dumb Terminals!"
That is to say your computer will no longer be a "local service", but rather a service you pay for. You buy a video/network ready "box", plug it into your broadband, and you have a computer. All computing, graphical, etc. resources will be pushed down to you.
Then it will be a matter of how much you're willing to pay a month to get what you want; like extra software, games, etc.
This is MS' goal.
