  • Monthly vs. Prepaid Cell Phones?

I don't like phones much. :d I have a regular phone I pay $15/mo for service and leave it unplugged :d because it seems like all the phone calls are from some telemarketer or someone I don't really care to talk to :d :d :d

I did like my cell phone, but I cancelled it in January because they kept raising prices to the point it wasn't worth it to me.

Besides, I like to make all my phone calls from other people's phones :d

Anyway, I had procrastinated in getting a new cell phone and finally got around to it and then I remember what I hated.

"This plan has a 2 year service agreement." and here are 10 overpriced service plans you can pick from.

I ended up getting a prepaid cell phone and it kicks ass and and I don't have a service agreement, nor do I have to pay a monthly fee.

I guess the real turn-off for me with cell phone service agreements is that they are really "screw the customer" agreements and any change you make extended the "plan" for 2 more years so you are never done with it.

    These prepaid phones kick ass.

I got a prepaid phone through Altel, I pay $75 a month and I get the following

    700 minutes monthly,
    Free nights & weekends
    Free text messaging
    Free mobile to mobile

I only really use my cellphone for business calls or to call my family so its plenty sufficient for what I need it for + more.

The phone feels a little cheap compared to the cell I lost and replaced this this phone, but its like having a plan without the service agreement

      That makes life easier.

      I have Cingular/ATT. Don't care about texting.

      Rate Plan: FamilyTalk Nation 450 Rollover & 5000 Night/Weekend & Unlimited Mobile-To-Mobile Minutes.

$68.68 per/month. Shared plan with my wife. Everyone I know personally is on the same network so I only pay the monthly charge.

I will find you... it's only a matter of time.

The "Do Not Call" list doesn't do everything (phone is on that). Yeah, it's a lot better than prior to that law and for a long time it was almost perfect.

Charities, survey companies, and companies that fit thru the loophole are still allowed to call. Twice per day is enough of an annoyance.

Plus wrong number people and "miscellaneous" people who are annoying, heheh

Hehe, at my house everyone knows if the phone number on the caller id is private, no infomration or a number we don't know, we simply do not answer it.

I will find you... it's only a matter of time.

Yeah, but I have to look I've been nearly just as interrupted as answering the call.
