I am not a liar, you guys know that. I have no reason to falsely brag, it is not like I gain anything from it.
Truth is I manage my money very good and I consider myself quite well off and that gives me the ability to afford items I want to own.
I do love games and techie things and if it is a good buy then I will go for it. I do a lot of research before purchasing anything, and study the pros and cons of anything before I make a smart and informed decision.
As for Steam, I heard people had gripes with it. Truth is, it has very good games, excellent prices (as of right now they have a 10-50% Holiday Sale until January 1st on all items, hurry up!),a great platform and instant updates. I trust the platform. And if you have a constant high speed connection to the Internet it is a great application. The content is delivered right to you instantly and you can use your computer for other tasks, without the need to manually install and swap disks and make driver updates, as Steam does it all automatically for you and suggests any updates for download based on your current hardware profile that it detects.
If you save your receipt after each purchase (as I did) you should not have any problems recovering your games in the rare instance of a Hard Drive crash. I am sure that if you present the proper documentation / evidence to a Steam representative that you own a game (or key) which you have [legally] purchased you should not have any kind of problems. It is a reputable company.
As for TF2, I have to learn it and become quite proficient in it before I can accept any official challenges. :p Unless, there is a way to play 1on1 with bots filling in on human missing classes, and of course I would play if I would be taught anything about the game. I love to learn.
My Steam ID is snsparadise.
Anyone feel free to hit me up and strike a conversation with me. It would be cool to have some game friends to play alongside with / against in the games I love and own. Believe it or not, that is the only application I leave open all day, as I do not use any other kind of Instant Messangers at all. Since I love games, and Steam, it is a fitting choice to have it act also as an Instant Messanging Client.
As for that TV, Solecord, what a deal! Are you sure it is the same model as mines? Mines is KDL-32XBR4 Sony Bravia. I could not get the price down below $1,000, the best I did is get it knocked down to $1,149.95 by price matching it with B&H Video (the lowest price I could find) from the original Best Buy price that they currently have which is $1,259.99. Purchasing the necessary cables (Monster 1000 HD gold plated cable) and a hefty surge protector, raised my total price to approximately $1,650 which included tax (ouch!).
I am enjoying my TV, however hooking it all up by myself with my boyfriend proved to be quite a challenge and it took us quite a while to figure out why there was no sound on it lol, turns out you have to also change some settings on your cable box.
Paying a qualified technician sure would make the process easier but learning it yourself yields more satisfaction after a hard day of work and after all is done and all the dust settled it is worth the price paid in gold watching your new TV in all its shining glory.Last edited by Paradi$e; 12-30-2007, 07:50 AM.

I went out and picked up Company of Heroes and Stalker w/ a 'gift' card.
CoH is quite a bit of fun, but so frustrating at the moment cause im new to all the hotkeys and there is a ton of micro-managing to be done in the campaign. I've only logged about two hours on Stalker so far, turned down the difficulty after getting wastedHad a nice first impression with it, hopefully it'll be a good time.

Both are excellent games, very good choices. Make sure you patch all your games before you play them. STALKER has a ton of minute but harmless bugs, make sure you grab the latest patch for it.
I made some small changes to my previous post. I was working overnight, and had to finish some more important jobs first.

Good call paradise. Seems a little daunting for Company of Heroes though, a series of 8 patches of manual updating = *ugh*

Playing on a public server for the first time is disorienting, for a newbie starting to learn a new game. I would just get blasted all over the place without actually having the change to figure out what is going on around me, what must I do and how to play.
I prefer private instruction for that sort of thing (if possible).

You're only going to learn stuff in public games. It's fine, there are tons of newbies in every server I join just learning the game and they all quickly learn the basics. TF2 is very simple. Then when you learn more, it's very strategic. When you play on a new map, you have the option to watch a funny video valve made explaining how you play the map. This is how Valve made the game to get people right into it. Join the fun.
