For those of you who are too stubborn like me to use a real burning program with lots of useless bloat and a navigation scheme that has been fubar'd in a new version (looks at nero 8 :shadedshu) and are trying to burn a bootable ISO:

    http://isorecorder.alexfeinman.com/isorecorder.htm

The instructions are very simple. It uses Window's build-in IMPAI cd-burning service. Whenever you have an ISO you want to make bootable (in my case, it was MEmtest86+ v2.0), you just pop a blank CD-R in your burner, get to the ISO, right click on it, and click Copy image to CD. Then go from there... very simple, very efficent.

Can I make a simple .iso of some files that I'd like to make easily available to burn?

For instance, let's say there is a collection of several texture packs. Could I use this to easily make an .iso that has all of those files on it?

I ask because like yourself, I find Nero too be massive overkill when I just want something simple.

Yes sir. The program adds a feature in the context menu called "Create ISO image file", but it only works on folders. You would have to put them all in a folder first then right click on it and make the ISO. However, when you open the ISO, it won't have the folder then all the stuff inside it, it will just have the files. For example...

I got a folder in my c:\ directory called oc, and no, it's not a pack of files about omicron, it's my overclocking stuff, stability tests, things like that. Anywho...

When I made an ISO of that folder and then opened it (with WinRAR), id didn't have a folder called oc in it, it just showed the files inside the folder. But the folders INSIDE the oc folder were left intact. I made a test folder inside the oc folder and it was still there just like it was before.

Simply put it turns the folder into an ISO.

I just use powerISO or deepburner.
