Disagreeing about a game it is not a bannable offense. I am not having a flame war with you, you are the one that turns everything I say and throws flames at me. Everything I said was UNRELATED to you, it was related to GTA IV.

GTA IV is still being discussed. You derail the thread by unnecessarily flaming me. Unless you have something to say ABOUT GTA IV, say it, otherwise get out and leave out your personal flame wars against me.

I am not a troll by expressing my opinion about a game. You did not have to argue with me, I never challenged you personally, and everything that you said was completely unncessary.

Has anyone purchased GTA? Is it living up to all the hype, or should I wait till it is being resold as used and save a few bucks?

The Xbox360 version of GTA IV is almost identical to the PS3 version. Obviously PS3 fanboys/girls will say it looks better on the PS3, but theres basically no difference between the two.

the Xbox360 will have DLC (Downloadable Content) which some are saying will add up to 20 hours to the game which makes for excellent replay value.

I've heard the PS3 will have DLC available but not as much as the Xbox360.

In the end, it depends on which console you have, I wouldn't merit going out and buying a new console if you already own the other just to play GTA IV, just buy it for whichever console you own.

IF you do own both consoles I would suggest you weigh your options. as I stated above, both will have downloadable content, but the Xbox360 will have a plethora of DLC much more then the PS3 (So I've heard).

This game feels almost like it was pieced together by some great minds with how alive the city feels.

Everything from simply walking around, to the new A.I programmed into the cops and the chases.

The over the shoulder targeting system at first I thought was going to be horrid because I didn't like it in Resident Evil 4, yet it completly compliments the game's feel.

Also, the vehicle physics are touchy and if you don't learn when and how to slow down and drive right you will find yourself sliding through an intersection and into the side of a building, or even worse... over a cliff

The best advice is to get GTAIII, VC and SA and get a feel for them.

They are cheaper at $20 and they all play essentially similar save for better graphics and complexities that are introduced into the sequels.

Wait until the price drops, meanwhile play the prequels. And if you like them, buy it then.

That is the smartest thing to do.

You definetely CAN'T play GTA like how you can play Quake. A new GTA means better graphics and more realism. Quake is completely the opposite (no realism, but the graphics are not bad).

About the cutscenes, yes you can jump them, but by doing that you won't understand what's your role in the game, and will just do stupid senseless missions and propably get bored of the game in a few hours. That means, watch the damn cutscenes or the game will suck. So, it's kinda of a MUST SEE.

All that I am saying is it would be ULTRA cool to play Quake-style within the environmental universe of GTA instead of doing all those stupid similar type missions that have been done to death from the previous GTA installments.

Which you CAN do exactly everything she described in GTA IV. I also don't skip the cut scenes as I like enjoying the story of games. Quake is the only game I play that is nothing more then a simple point and click game.

I try to enjoy any game I play to its fullest, usually playing 100% through then checking out multiplayer if its an option.

Last time I checked the title said "Grand Theft Auto IV" not just "GTA ANY OF THEM" Which is why I corrected Paradise's post and mindless blather about GTA VC, LC SA, DNF, ?Monkey island?

Sadly, a lot of people DO NOT play Quake either regardless of its classic status. That is the reality. They play newer games. Or did that fact escape you?

All the previous GTA's were all "forgotten" and their price dropped to 20 bucks. IV will follow the trend after the hype goes down as its predecessors.

All great games deserves mention regardless of which thread. Stop being that close minded and searching the haystack for the needle to cause flame.
