Slayer's vocals are far too weak for the music from what Ive heard.

IMO it goes great with the music. You can actually here what Tom is saying, unlike the death metal guys. After all it is Thrash metal, they don't RAWR. Listen to some Hell Awaits, AWESOME, HEAVY, POWERFUL, FAST. After all, who listens to metal for the vocals?Slayer's vocals are far too weak for the music from what Ive heard.

It conflicts, it sounds like hes in the wrong band
I can understand properly done death metal vocals (as in, they actually enunciate the lyrics, only with a growl).
As a death metal vocalist - I do. It is a crucial part of the music as it is usually mixed the highest and is part of the song. In my opinion if youre not listening to the vocals, that is akin to not listening to the drums or guitar.who listens to metal for the vocals?

Not currently, my vocals sadly have usually dominated because Im yet to meet a band heavy enough for the vocals. Met as in saw live that werent established heavy acts like Opeth.

Im told that they are. Ive used it to clear a path through a crowd before, was fun.
George's vocals work well with Cannibal Corpse, not my favorite style and more of a bark then a growl or roar for the most part, but they work.
But I will stand by the statement that Im yet to meet people who play music heavy enough to not be dominated by my vocals.
