There's theories on how he died, but I don't think he shot himself.

It was quite clear to me. All those drugs that he took messed up his brain chemistry, got depressed that deep that only way out that he saw suicide. Something similar happened with Kobain.

I actually was very saddened by this because I enjoyed his book and Johnny Depp movie. It is one thing to make movie about drug culture and another to be active participant of it.

That movie was cinematographic work of art "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" on gonzo-journalism.

Further motivation to stay off drugs and live positive life , because crap catches up to everyone, even someone who all thought never had this issue -devastating depression- which led to his tragic suicide.

I dunno, it takes some stones to eat a revolver. If I was an old fart and it was getting to the point where I couldn't take a shit by myself or wipe my own ass, I'd definitely consider it. Especially if I was a literary great with legendary drug fortitude like HST. You'd almost expect nothing less from the man.
