Hey Solecord,

Did anything else come out of this? Some sort of instant communication feature would be awesome to get games going.
Alot of people use the server browser to check if people are playing, but there are most likely alot of times where more than a few people are just waiting for someone to join a server.
I seem to think also that the chat may reduce some of the "peripheral-chat-like" topic threads.

Java is not necessary to accomplish something like this. It could be done with just javascript, much like facebook or gmail chat.

I'm actually working on an update to the server browser currently. Some sort of live chat or chat box will be looked at after the new server browser is launched... more to come about that shortly... and thanks to Efess
