911 gone retarded

I just read on the newspaper that a 8-year old girl's mother in Chicago/Detroit was having a heart attack. She then phones 911 to get an ambulence but the operator told her to stop making stuff up or else she'll get in trouble. So no help arrives and the mother dies. Experts say she would have survived the attack if she got medical assistance.

This makes me sick in the stomach on how an operator can not take her job seriously. Don't we teach our kids to phone 911 on emergency!?

My dad said a 5-year old boy called 911 and said his mother was on the floor. The operator said "Put your mother on the phone", and didn't believe him. They told him to "Quit playing with the phone or we'll send the police out there and you'll be in a lot of trouble."

The mother died, of course.

He said this was sometime last week.
