Any more ideas?
I know this is a noobie suggestion but have you tried safe mode? and ran anti spyware, a process killer/manager, antivirus, registry repairs, system restore?... all that good stuff

A dead cpu means a dead computer. If something was wrong with the processor, it wouldn't POST. Aside from that, the chances that the cpu is borked are very low. The cpu is the most durable part of the computer. Motherboards are far more fragile.e|------------------------0---------------

leave these things plugged in;
powersupply , cpu , and if you have onboard anything , enable and utilize all onboard devices! keyboad,monitor.things to NOT have plugged in;
memory,hard drives,floppy drives,cd/dvd drives, ANY IDE,SATA,PCI or PCI-E devices,unless there is no onboard video,in which case,you can still remove it,for the sake of controlled testing...which is fine, but if you boot without any video device at all, you should most definately get a beepcode and if you do not,time to RMA :/Want to get into playing Quake again?
