I hate routers. Every other day it seems either the wireless networking part of the router fails, or the internal DNS goes down. Its frustrating after a while
I started out with a netgear a few years ago and it started up with these random problems. I moved to a WRT-54G v8 router that I bought at staples, the IT people where I work recommended it. Worked for a while, but now it has the same problems. So I installed the DD-WRT firmware on it, didn't seem to help much.
I've narrowed it down to the Router, because when it fails, both the laptops in the house fails as well as the HTPC looses connection.
Does anyone else have the perfect solution to a router? I've been thinking about just buying a thin client box and installing software to turn it into a router..
