    Hey!

I thought maybe some people here would get a kick out of this. I just finished a quick study into making 3d games. I say quick, but i think parts of my soul and brain have been devoured in the process...

Anyways, the end result is a breif FPS-Horror game I call "The Hunt" Its for windows, and if You'd like to watch a teaser/download the game check it out here

GameMaker has built in Direct3d subroutines you can call up in its code. I'm forcing myself to get futher away from object-based coding so I broke apart the codebase of a 3d-engine example to see how it ticked, then I built my own game around what I was able to salvage.

er. yeah. when it comes to 3d stuff i've never... EVER.. EEVVVVVER dared to try it until just last night, so there's some really weird stuff going on. It looks like that on my Netbook, and on my pals laptop and I have no idea why.

It's really frustrating, im sorry it's freaking out like that on you, metch. For the time being, consider it the "extra trippy" edition?

hmm maybe the "is that a door?" edition, besides that its awesome, especially the white-noise on the screen, like my eyes have been replaces by cameras with shotty fiber-optic cables wired to the nerves

hey metch i figured out what's wrong! All textures need to be in dimensions that are multiples of 2 (hurrk) so i'm going through and redoing all the tex. right now. tedious but it works fine now.

                              Its just for funnzies!

I've already got a semi-solid walk cycle working, I was going to animate the running, jumping, attacking then dying sequences next, then find some game oriented language to use them in... I'm currently working with DarkBasic Professional for most everything I do, though its limitations can be tediously annoying to get around, it can pump out playable results probably in less then 100 lines of code...

However the curiosity is strong in me and I've allso went ahead and tested the waters with among others.. Xbox 360/Windows XNA Game Studio 3.1 (Ya I have a big dream about an Xbox 360 game!) which is pretty much C# (Not C+ C*S would know ) re-vamped for creating PC/XBox 360 games.

The thought has crossed my mind to mingle my current knowledge of modeling/animating with Quake but that's almost like Christopher Columbus setting out to discover America to me right now hehe WHERE THE F*** IS IT!?

I'm probably taking on a lot with XNA, DBPro & PHP and also tinkering with QuakeC (Every Quaker's dream) but its fun, I don't burn myself out on any of it, just take a few moments here and there to continue creating, touching up things then set them back on the shelf heh.
