Ok, I've been at this a while now. Does anyone know if there exists a program that monitors your motherboard temperatures that allows you to increase the default thresh hold and is compatible with an Intel D865GSA mobo?
I already use SpeedFan 4.4 thanks to mindz, but that's only doing so much for some odd reason. I read in the online mobo manual from Intel that the maximum temp allowed for cpu is 40 degrees celsius and board temp max is 50 celsius. I need this increased i do believe.
I've already tried coretemp, realtemp, intel desktop utilities, intel active monitor (with the patch provided by intel) and hmonitor. this POS mobo i have has literally no support anywhere. what DOES recognize the motherboard doesn't do anything for changing the thresh hold of when the computer restarts due to a thermal issue.
any and all help is greatly appreciated.
side note: when my computer restarts and i check the temperature in the bios, it typically reads no higher than 57 in zone 2 (which stays the hottest and is the area by the RAM) and even weirder, i never get an actual error message. i used to get "thermal issue" before i bought the new heat sink and an extra case fan. Now I get nothing, it just reboots. Maybe a power supply problem?
