  • New Music This Spring/Summer

Bunch of good stuff coming out this spring and summer. Already a couple good albums have leaked on the net:

    - Pearl Jam self titled album
    - Tool ~ 10,000 Days
    - Godsmack ~ IV

So far seems to be a good year for music.

Hope SLAYER's new album is much better than God Hates Us All, their latest. The new SLAYER album should come out on 6/6/06. I can't wait, since their original drummer, Dave Lombardo, is back in the band. Ever since Dave left SLAYER, each one of their records got worse and worse. (but still good compared to most metal)

Hmm, been meaning to get that Tool album when it comes out. Maybe it will help me finally make up my mind whether I like them.

Bullshit, Tool is one of the few bands that aren't mainstream and come up with their own sound in every song!

they have some good sound in their songs that are unlike the sound heard most of the time but i hardly find them to be the messiahs of anything evolutionary

its debatable that every song of tool's is unique. they dont offer differing tones much of the time, as is noticed on lateralus. perhaps its maynard's singing as well

you may also be referring to the lyrics as well, in which case i still think its debatable but also plausable with some convincing examples

im just not a fan of tool. i like some of their songs but overall listening to a whole cd is a bit repetitious (this is only based on aenima and lateralus)

the new ideas thing had come from the similar title. i know that the title is based on a medical condition his mother had gone through but 27 years is 9855 days not 10,000 (which i cant find the truth of because there seems to be no dates anywhere of how long his mother had to go through that)

of course you are welcome to help me understand by writing of the specifics. im interested to see what i havent seen yet.

Lateralus is the most diverse out of the 5 (not including 10,000 bla) albums.

i also think that tool is mainstream since their shirts are sold at hot topic and their music is on the radio

They aren't selling their music on iTunes

Your opinion, I'm not going to argue about the meaning of mainstream

maybe you are just not in the mood to argue about it, or maybe you need a tissue. either way im unconvinced that tool is anything above and beyond a fancy mainstream outlook.

im sorry for having the brass to say such a thing to you but dismissing what i had said as mere opinion and to say no more can only mean to me that you somehow cannot be bothered by someone like me

im here to talk about the merits of tool. if you think that you posess some antidote for humanity because you listen to maynard then ill have to disagree.

i say the same thing about the matrix

edit - im actually listening to tool right now
