coincidentally, one could guess that he was using the checks as hit tooters,and everytime he took a huge rail to the nose,he flipped out and went and wrote a bad check for some randomly expensive item for all his buddy's back at the barracks to enjoy.

That covers the dishonorable discharge,it covers the wrongful use of cocaine possibly,and even covers the reasonings for writing 3 insufficient fund checks.
