  • Showing off new alien model (WIP)

Here's a little preview of a main character for a project I've been working on for about 2 months now. It was created using the program Blender 3D v2.49b and so far this is the progress I've made in about 1 hour of modeling so far. I'm debating with myself on this model if it should have 4 or 5 "fingers" and if it should have inverted kneecaps.

Once the 3D mesh is complete it will be textured, rigged and animating the model for my project. I'm keeping my project under wraps for now as its nowhere near ready for the public eye but I wanted to share this with you guys/gals here on Quake One.

Comments are welcome! More to come!

Off to a nice start. My only suggestion thus far is to thicken the ears slighly as they look VERY thin.
Since alien unsure as to how you want the torso (or overall design) - but if you are basing off human anatomy. I would make the "chest/breasts" taller - lower them a few inches lower on the model.

Hope to see more progression with this. Off to a great start and if you run into any issues let me know and I will see if I could help out.

The model isn't supposed to be based off human anatomy, more like humanoid anatomy.

I've adjusted the chest and I DO like it better, thanks Ooppee.

I liked the brow and forehead area. Why not play around with the shape of the head some more, instead of a slim oval, make the top of the head triangular or even like a double-camel hump (yikes?). Try a longer neck length too.

          looks cool.

It looks more like a traditional D&D Elf than an alien with those ears
