Anyways, I found this site/forums by a magical tool called google
I use to play this shit (dont be offended, just slang) back in the day! I can't believe people still play Doom/Quake 1! I use to lan on this stuff all the time with friends.
I play ALL, yes, ALL id games. And I love 'em.
After many many many years... I was looking through my dusty files on my external hard drive, and I found all these classic id games!

Hey, good to see a new face every once in a while around here. You can check the most popular servers on the front page, using the server browser to the right. I personally run a server called Future vs Fantasy, a really cool coop mod where you choose between a variety of classes and take down the monsters... if you're in to that sort of thing.

Alright, Ive got a problem.
I go to quake1, and i enter ur ip/fvf.servequake.com:26000...
and it brings up the console and it says "connection accepted"
and i just keep waiting... nothing happens. it wont connect? Hm.
erghh ill keep trying, please do help though

Pah, you left already.

That's a common problem, you should probably upgrade to a replacement engine... Proquake is the most faithful to the original, but has a ton of bug fixes and such.

ProQuake 4: The official continuation of ProQuake

There's a lot of other engines, Darkplaces being the most advanced (but tougher on resources and tricky to use once you get into replacement content), Qrack being more newber friendly but still has nice graphics.
