That's not Jobs' fault though. We can pay respects to the man while still disliking the fanatical followers.

I'm not a fan of Apple products but I can still respect Steve Jobs. Too young to die at 56, I say. Puts life in perspective. I'm 33... creeping up there slowly.

Relax, Grim. Bashing Apple isn't the same as bashing Steve Jobs. Steve was a successful businessman who ran a company which made many user friendly, idiot-proof devices. The general public loves Apple products. Those few, such as myself, who have a higher level of technical understanding stray away from Apple products because we have better options available to us—better products that aren't locked down like a maximum security prison; however, Steve didn't do anything wrong by pushing these products. He made something that works and is enjoyed by the masses... the few people like me who don't like Apple products being the small exception. As I said, he was a successful businessman.

The death of Steve Jobs is a tragedy for those who knew him and should be respected as such, but Grim Warlock is essentially right, the field of packaging crap for the consumer market is not a heroic endeavour. The Nobel Peace Prize was just announced for this year with a whisper of coverage in comparison to the death of the guy who patented the pastel toned computer case and the single button mouse.

I thought this was going to be a joke thread, lol. This was quite unexpected, but I just hate that people are now saying "OHHES HE CHANGED THE WORLD", it really pisses me off. He made Mac, iPod and iPhone but it didn't change the world. TBH I think Apple's products are pretty shit.
