The movie Contagion (just came out on DVD) was awesome and this was sort of the theme.
That being said, sure there are resistant strains of bacteria and so forth but I think the alarmist nature of the concerns are wrong.
Of course mother nature isn't going to stop making new germs just because humans discovered anti-biotics. Medicine will have adapt to changes.
What are these bacteria going to do about new bacteria-killing surfaces, UV sterilization and such.
