  • NBA Basketball (Playoffs)

From a historical point of view, I am a fan of the LA Lakers. But from a geographical point of view, I admire the Boston Celtics. The Celtics seem very impressive. They beat the hawks 101 to 79 and they lead the series 3-1. Allan, Garnett, and Rondo are all major forces.

In Denver, the Lakers edged the Nuggets 92-88. The Nuggets are a really good team and it's hard to beat them on the road.

    A few minor comments:

-Congratulations to the Oklahoma City Thunder. They completed the sweep over the Mavericks.

-The 76ers deserve some respect. They lead the series against the bulls (3-1).

-Lebron James should have stayed in Cleveland. (You know... It's an old comment but it's still funny.)

Go Nuggets (Ty Lawson), Go Pacers (Tyler Hansbrough), go Spurs (Danny Green). Who exactly are these fellas? Check out my avatar. They are Tar Heels. Specifically from the 09 National Title Championship team.

Beyond That, F the lakers (though i respect Kobe), I like the Big 3 in Boston but i'd rather see the Big 3 in Miami win it all this year. I'm a large, massive, big, huge fan of LBJ and Dwyane Wade (yeah i spelled his first name right, that's how much i like him).

Ty Lawson is my boy blue! Unstoppable in college, unstoppable now. Watch him when he tries to create for himself, there is no try, there is only do or do not. and he does.

^ The Nuggets shouldn't have lost that game yesterday. Whenever Faried was on the floor they had the lead. He kept running the ball through Andre Miller every play and the Lakers climbed back in. In game 3 everything went through Lawson and the Nuggets controlled the game tempo.

They were getting killed on offensive rebounds as well, Jordan Hill was doing a number on the boards.

But yeah, disappointed with Karl not running everything through Lawson/Gallinari last night. In the first half they had a comfortable lead throughout because they kept pick and rolling with Gallo at the 4 and causing Gasol to come out and cover him (or Bynum against Lawson) and they had a tonne of mismatches. When you play Andre Miller so many minutes they sag off him and force him to shoot while loading up on other players.

I hope Memphis wins tonight, I always love watching them. Last year 3 months before the playoffs I said Memphis and Dallas are my two dark horses, and all my friends laughed at me

76ers don't deserve any respect (for the OP), they're beating up on a Rose-less/Noah-less Bulls squad featuring bench players and Boozer/Deng. I'm more impressed with the fact the Bulls are so competitive against a team clearly more stacked/talented. I'll give them respect if they can give a healthy playoff team a run for their money.

Dallas played really well against OKC as well, but OKC finally got over that hump of making big plays down the stretch of games.

I still think OKC is going to lose to either the Lakers or Memphis. They have no interior post game and rely primarily on their perimeter play from Westbrook/Harden/Durant. Memphis has the best perimeter defense in the league, but on top of it they can take you inside with Gasol/Randolph and beat up on you. I think that's a bad matchup for OKC and they'll lose it. Conley/Allen/Mayo/Gay are all very good perimeter defenders.

Tal: totally agree on every word you said. Except the very bottom obv.

Correction: i don't see memphis making a huge splash this year. And i think it sucks OKC got matched against Mavs in the first round, when these were the two teams in the WEST finals last year. But they put themselves there (or dallas did rather).

Also, what's crazy is George Karl is a UNC Alumnus, you'd think he'd favor Ty for his ability alone, add the collegiate connection and it's a no-brainer. Puzzling.

I was a fan of Toronto Raptors like 10 years ago since Vince Carter played there and my trainers brother who was a center (Ndayine or something was his name) and he used to send toronto raptors trainings clothes to us Althou they were pretty big and I did have difficulty to find t-shirt small enought for me eaven if I was 6"3 already at that time.
