I have a friend who works at Walmart. He tells me that he has to deal with some funny customers. These customers don't read the signs and they ask him funny questions. I don't work at Walmart but, in a part-time job, I had to deal with some of these customers myself. Do you have a similar experience?

Most the time I see the store clerks trying to have fun at the customers expense when I go into a store...so lots of times I just walk out and dont bother shopping anymore. One place I wen tinto it was so bad, and it was a restaurant.....before I placed the order I walked out. That kinda stuff use to only go on at bar rooms, but I guess they have all closed down, and other places have to pickup the slack. Before long the whole country will look like a ghost town of empty buildings....already lots of them out there.

Welcome to 2012! You sir must exit your life or get use to reality!

You must have to walk out of 95% of places you go to. Having a good time at work and actually doing the work is great, getting bad services is another. I am in different cities-states every day, im a truck driving company owner. Have fun with the employees on a mature level, you are like the government, taking away all the fun and perhaps good times. RL Clown only mentioned how stupid people can be. READ THE SIGNS!!! Pay attention.

Haha, if you are having a good time at work in the worst economic depression the world has ever seen , you got some good meds. Just remember, what goes up must come down.

Meds eh? I have a self proclaimed med called "high on life". I employ drivers and stress to them the importance of doing your job and making it as fun as you can. If you can not enjoy your job you obviously need meds. I promote employee > employer relationships to see employees come to work with peace and comfort in mind. If the employee is nuttier then a squirrels turd, then let them go. Other then that, enjoy your job and have fun doing it.

Working in a corrupt system and "high on life" sounds like a long way down.

I don't think I employ 1 sane person. My guys are fearless in a "too stupid to care" kind of way. I'd say we all put our lives at the mercy of our balance and wind conditions every day with not even a thought about what would happen if we slipped. Then you can take other accidents into consideration and the insane things you need to do to correct them - like nailing your hand to a structure with ring shank nails and having to basically rip the nail through your hand to get loose (as an example).

I actually did that many years ago and I didn't even stop working for the day (or any day following for that matter).Thank god it didn't go through a bone, otherwise ripping it through would not have been an option and pulling it out may have been impossible.

I guess my point is: I don't care how crazy you are, as long as you get the job done (PROPERLY) and don't piss off my clients.

I have one employee - me. If my business fails, its my fault. If it succeeds, its a demonstration of some good character assets on my part and some good people I chose to do business with. I know my trade well after 26 years being in it, good enough to know that politicians and their laws ought to keep their nose out of the affairs of people like me....and maybe I could grow and hire people. But in reality, my efforts dont really mean squat to them, I am just a dollar sign to them, the more I make, the more it helps them in the form of taxes. Sure I enjoy the work at times otherwise I would not be good at it, but Im not a A_hole that is gonna bust my arse all the time feeding a cancer that is ruining the country where I was able to get these skills in the first place. I do have a consious, and I dont have the cowardice to turn to drugs or alchol to make me ' feel better ' about what I see going on. Im facing my life on MY terms, for better or worse, Ill take the good days with the bad. Dr. Loser would probably diagnose me as bipolar and gamble with some insurance companies for my fate...and make a few million on the side, like they are doing behind the scenes to millions of other people in this country. At some point I may be labeled a more lethal terrorist than Obama and breaking the law by not having healthcare, but in the end, my fate is in my own hands, not anyone elses, and surely not ever the governmet.

Exactly the point. Do your job professionaly and get it done right. Cobalt sounds like the reason we got nObama in office. Trying to dictate and make useless laws and rules, infringe on our daily lives. Safe to say, you only care about your needs and no one eles. Im safely sane and enjoy life as stress free as i can make it. You are your own strength. Mine is strong.

I dont think there will ever be a person born who can effictively 'run' this ' country' again in its current condition. I may even chose not to vote this year because of it. Its all about raising money and throwing around buzzwords....plus its money raised in the worst global economic depression the world has ever known, so what possible value can it have on a candidate other than to show how desperate the current situation is? Keep doing things like that, and this country will be a 3rd worlld country, like Ted Nugent said: A suburb of Indonesia.

But guess what? While I find that very depressing, at the same time I could say I really care less, because, yea, I am taking care of myself, and not looking out for others....and the fools who are out there now ' giving it thair all' are feuling the cancer thats bringing us back to the stone age...but like you said, ignorance can be bliss, and its the ' high of life ' is what will get you through. I bet Ted Bundy , David Berkowitz and other serial killers would say they were ' high on life too '....right?

If you like what you do and it helps others, great, but telling others what they ought to do or not do with their life because there is alot of bad things they are seeing around them is not how you achieve worth.....so I would , if asked for an opinion, say that there is a flaw in that thought system.

If you want to really get to know what this country is about, move to NY which is where I live. You get to sit back and watch society go to hell while it tries to wrap itself in old glory for the sake of 911.....Bankers and Investors on Wall Street gamble away all your hopes and dreams and hundreds of young people protest because they are left without a seat when the music stops. Try taking a front row seat to all that, and you have walked a mile in my shoes maybe....then judge me.

Cobalt is "good people". I am stating this in hopes that "us against them" doesn't turn into "us against us".

I'd bet a bunch of money that I don't even have that everyone in this thread is "like-minded" where it is important. Id also bet all the money that has ever existed that "we" just want to be free to succeed/fail/live without 3rd party (government) intervention. My point being that we are all on the same team here. It doesn't matter who runs the ball, throws the ball or defends the ball. All that matters is that we score
