Years ago when i worked at the sheriff's office we were given a national do not call registry phone number. 888-382-1222 This will stop telemarketers from calling you once your number enter's the database, it's not a hidden secret its actually ran by the federal government and they do prosecute those who violate this registry if reported.

im on that list, however my cable company decided they'd like to keep calling and try to sell me a home phone. Until i told them I was on that list, then the phone calls stopped.

I used to travel a lot and got a bunch of guys calling my cell with someone else from their area having the same number from a different zone.
After a while it became annoying to the point it pissed me off using my minutes up on stupid shit.Those of you who know me know that when I get upset I get creative and this was no exception. I came up with a little game to chill me out and have some fun with it,it went a little something like this....
Caller:
"Is Lisa there?"
Me:
"Yes she is"
Caller:
"May I speak with her?" *he asks somewhat peeved to get a guy answering her phone*
Me:
"No, She can not"
Caller:
"Why the hell not !" *he asks,now pretty hot under the collar.
Me:
"She can't come because her mouth is full at the moment"
