I do know you don't have a Batman massacre everyday, but I believe you still have quite the overall death toll. Why not limit the damage someone can do (do you really need extended magazines for home defense?) and make it a bit harder to acquire stuff like Glocks (it's not "just a pistol", a Glock 17 holds 17 rounds that can be fired very quickly - is that needed? Why not limit it to eight).

I don't argue with simple weapons for home defense, but some of the stuff in your gun shops is overkill for that purpose.

So Hillary Clinton and the other people that Assange exposed can be big shots and play diplomatic games that in all other ways doesn't have anything to do with who we elected president last time or maybe this time and doesn't have a damn thing to do with anything any voters in the USA really care about.

Because our government is isolated and cannot be trusted. American distrust of own government is sadly well-founded and quite valid. And you don't have to be an extremist to know our own government cannot be trusted.

As a result, our government cannot be granted the power to impose even minimal gun control restrictions, they would take a mile with the inch that they were given.

Your government represents 60-70 million people, they are close to home and to some extent they have a bond with the people and a connection.

We do not have this. And political ideology in the US doesn't have anything to do with this disconnect. Washington has their own culture, is unaccountable, corrupt and lazy. Our government's culture hurts us and there isn't much that can be done about it, except limit its influence.

It shouldn't be this way, but this is what we have. It is a really terrible situation, I know Europeans can't relate to this. What Americans find offensive is the broad-brush assumption our government really functions. But it doesn't. Our government simply cannot be trusted.

I saw some out of place guy hanging around at 4 AM. I began an "inquiry", just me, myself and I. I am a rather low-key guy except I'm embarrassed that I'm not really (but I pretend really good).

He achieved relief when the police arrived, who I called in advance on basically jack-shit of evidence except my gut instinct. I happen to be right. This guy had broken into 26 cars. But I didn't know that (I thought he might be breaking into homes or something ... or maybe even not ... I just don't like people hanging around really ...). The police department later expressed gratitude to me because they had been after this guy for weeks (I wasn't after that and didn't even know ... I just saw some guy hanging out at the wrong place at the wrong time and at the time I was just rather sick of bullshit. I didn't have thoughts in my head like "was this guy armed?" I was simply mad. So, no, this wasn't really a formula for anyone to emulate except I swear I would have kicked this guy's ass Monday thru Friday and apparently this guy understood that and was shitting a brick, which he should have been doing because he knew how I felt about how inappropriate everything seemed.).

Golden boy. We have gun laws to control who can own a gun. They are not enforced, this id the problem we are having. No need for tighter laws when we have laws already in place to keep the guns out of criminal and criminal minded persons hands. Im a HUGE Ron Paul fan, i dont think we should have troops in any country to baby sit. I do not care if another country is in an uprising against their government like syria, im not there not my problem, sad to see and hear about all the deaths but i think our news should stop reporting crap from other countries so the brown nosing goes away. As for out government all up in europes business or other countries, thats not my fault. Welcome to politics, it sucks big nades!

Not being a part of these things is the antithesis to how America became so powerful. We are the most powerful singular nation on Earth and the way we maintain that is by skimming power from the top of everyone else. The world is a chess board with some very special pieces invented into the rules. If US backs out of (ex) Syria, someone else will make some kind of move because of it and that move will be to geo-politically capture the power that the United States abandoned. Using this simple logic there is only one thing that can ever happen. A nation is going to devour all nations eventually. Will this nation be America? Well, it is not impossible, but signs point to other countries catching up to us on our way down.
