Wow I wasn't nearly awake enough / no morning WnB yet , when I stumbled across this GEM of an article.
No official name is out there yet so I called it ValveBox ;O

The Big 3 (Sony,Microsoft,& Nintendo) is about to become the Big 4, once again, with Valve filling the missing 4th slot (Sega,and its discontinued role as a console/hardware manufacturer).

"We’re frustrated by the lack of innovation in the computer hardware space though," says the job description, "so we’re jumping in.

"Even basic input, the keyboard and mouse, haven’t really changed in any meaningful way over the years. There’s a real void in the marketplace, and opportunities to create compelling user experiences are being overlooked."

I have continued faith in SEGA to make a triumphant return to the console arena,even if I have better chances of being hit by a meteorite.. (looks up obv)
