  • embedding video?

I know I've done it a thousand times but when I try to put a youtube video in a post... it just post's the video link. not the actual video. What am I doing wrong? Seems like all I did in the past was copy and paste the address from the address bar or right click on the play button of the video and copy the video url... and paste that in the body of my post. Neither seem to work now though. Hmmm

yep thats all you do paste the link and the forum takes care of the rest. I don't know why you are having problems. Maaaaybe post the link all the way up to the first "&" all that &etc stuff is useless. You just need the v=7648236 part after the base url.

If you're using the quick reply, click on Go Advanced to view the full post reply page. Under Additional Options, make sure "Automatically embed media" is checked.

There is definitely some new behavior here. I used to have to manually add the movie tags, but not any more. Also when I do it the old way and strip out the extraneous junk from the video id,my movie ends up scaled smaller than the automatic forum handler.
            See----------------->

The forum code handles it better I think ,copy from the address bar.

This 3rd method you mention I have never tried the copy embed from the play button before but it does not seem to work here as it just shows a link.
            http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...jJufz9RNE#t=0s
However if you just add the movie tags to the link it does indeed work in yet another scaled fasion, but it disappears when I clik it.

Another way is to just use the id of the video with youtube tags.
But may not work on all forums.
            Code:
            [youtube]Q9jJufz9RNE[/youtube]
and gvideo tags for google videos
            Code:
            [gvideo]Q9jJufz9RNE[/gvideo]
At least those are common bb code tags,I have not actually asked or even know what code is allowed to be used on this forum, maybe someone could please answer as what code is allowed?

I also saw this phenomenom a couple of times...

When I pasted the youtube URL into my post and clicked "preview post", I only saw the URL. But when I clickes "submit" the youtube window appeared as it should.

I also discovered that sometimes it seems to be time depending.
When I just uploaded to youtube and the link appeared, which I copied, and emmidiately pasted it into the forum, the URL even was in the submitted post.
After a short time, the youtube window appeared as it should.

                        Ive been using [yes]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=91tOA_OtfP8[/yes]

remove the [yes][/yes]. Board has been auto-converting youtube links into video's for awhile now,
