    Hey Pat how's it goin?
I knew several guys who owned the mustangs of the late eighties and they were scary fast. The 87 LS with the 5 speed was the biggest sleeper and would do 150 all day.The state troopers here used stangs and I know they were running 175+ without turbos.Make sure if you are running that fast you have Z rated tires or they will pull rite off the rims!.I would also use a hood pin kit on it because if you have ever had a hood latch let go at 120+ it is no fun.One last cheap piece of mind is a safety loop for the front of the drive shaft as it turns into a pogo stick if you break the front u-joint.
    Be safe bro

I will be doing the work myself, So the only cost will be time and parts. And what's the point? I don't know, maybe going down to Pacific raceway and racing for cash/pinks? Why not make a fast car faster. I went 106 miles with 10 gallons.. I don't think it can get much worse.. Maybe 50-80 from 10 gallons when i'm done with it

Good good! Yeah, I'll definitely make sure I'm safe I'm not a typical "kid" hehe. I won't race anything unless the roads are clear/dry. I'm not a big fan of the 93 or older mustangs. I'm into the 98+ models. However, i own a 97 and a 96 mustang, hehe. I still haven't gone faster then 120, which i'm pretty sure I can do 140.. I'm just a bit nervous since I don't have any cash saved up in case I blow something, hehe!

When i was 18, i had 2 cars, i had a 2000 honda accord and a 1993 Ford Mustang 5.0ltr (FHP - Florida Highway Patrol) retired mustang. It was already police packaged and the only other thing i did to the mustang was added flow master exhaust and a cold air intake, and i ran around 11.7-11.8's at the track. I had to wear a helmet with anything under 12 seconds flat. I had a guy come out to the track on a 'test and tune' night, i think a wensday or friday, and i ran down the track against a '1971 ferrari daytona' and i spanked it like no end in sight. I ran 11.7 @ 124mph in 1/4 mile, and the ferrari ran something like 13.2 in 1/4 mile.. Anyway, the guy walked up to me after the run and said, is this a retired "FHP" patrol car? I said yes, i bought it from my friend's dad for $2500.00 and he said without hesitation, i'll give you $9,000.00 cash right now for it. After thinking long and hard for the next hour, i decided to sell it. He asked me to follow him to his office and wrote me a check, we went to the bank, i cashed it, he followed me 70 miles back to my house and i signed over the title and he left. I had a 2000 honda accord already so i was not carless. Well so much for that 9k i had, it's LOOONG gone haha

I would have sold it too, and then found a nice "Needs TLC" classic car. I was always fond of muscle cars, too bad muscle cars arent fond of nearly $4/gallon gasoline

Holy Moly $4. The equivalent here in the UK would cost you $8.50 (1.41 per litre x 3.8 Litrs (per US Gallon) x 1.61 (Dollars to the pound)) . Still, nice looking car though .

                      Be safe Pat.

                      Kind regards

It's not quite 4/gallon but shit, whats 35 cents. I remember when gas was 97 cents a fn gallon, and as far as I know the price of gasoline is pure politics.

I can remember it being headline news when Petrol reached a pound for a [imperial not the smaller US] gallon in the UK. It was seen as a major failing of the government of the time. Who would have thought it would rise so quickly over recent years and with no sign of the rises being stopped.

                            Ahh happy days
