we need a quake Facebook page or something. one people will actually use. the one now is useless.

Haha. Facebook. I'm sorry. And this isn't directed at you, Sylux. But really?

You don't find dimension and existence cowering in large groups of equally frightful peers. If you want a personal connection and can't do it in real life, you can use the phone. Facebook is where people insecure of their social status seek reassurance, being drawn in a place where insecurity of social status is a support group.

If there were a serious "QuakeOne" Facebook page, it would just have unmeaningful "Likes" that signify nothing --- no Facebook isn't a place of action, it is a place of feelings and whatever the opposite of substance is -- bottom line it doesn't really mean anything. It might have once upon a time when there were requirements to membership (like had to be a college student, but then again to monetize Facebook that had to go),

I have a ton of respect for Zuckerberg. And explaining why would be a mini-book of 75 things "he gets", "he understands" that corporate drones will never understand nor duplicate, but Facebook exploits social status insecurities --- and Zuckerberg managed to exploit this in spades (hats off). Plus, I have a strong bias towards winners --- not douches people in popular culture anoint as winners, but the ones in a crowded field (remember Myspace) that emerge carrying banner with several heads on a stick.

I personally use facebook for friends/family, I personally dont care who invades my privacy. If you walk into my home then it's game on > glock .40 or glock .17 which ever i can grab the fastest. (Oh, Mr. Officer, this person tried to rape my wife > had to > put out of misery because he refused to stop.) Privacy has been invaded in a physical force.
I don't hide much for sure, But there are something's i will protect obviously. The bottom line of is if i want you to know i will tell you or tell the world, if i don't it will never be mentioned.

Ya its a really good tool for family to keep up with 'the happenings' of other family members lives, because now days who has time to visit all their family in person all the time?

Like watching my Nephew grow up, since im not VA anymore doesn't mean im not connected with my peoples

My wife and I have a facebook. I don't use it to often. But my wife does. I use it to keep in touch with some of my old gaming buddies. I think I had Bay on there at one point. I have badaim also. But I never really talked to them much on it. When I was playing I'd get a message sometimes from Bay or Badaim to come play quake. That's about it for it though.
