  • ctf.quakeone mod ?

    What's the status on the mod? Myself and a couple others were just playing on the server and there's a crapload of bugs... well just a couple but crapload sounds better

    Server starts on e4m3 - on map change to e4m4 server crashes. Warp the server to e4m4 it crashes. e1m1 allows you to go through secret door to exit from red base which sucks.

    What's the spawn time on quad, 2 minutes or 1 minute?

    Ya I've been meaning to post an update....
    The problem is that the pub ctf mode that r00k made earlier this year and that runs perfectly on intertex crashes on hdz. The server that hosts hdz is a 64 bit system and quakec makes it angry. A lot of problems with CAx are due to this also, and r00k has been busy making cax run right on hdz so he hasn't had time to fix the pub mod.

    Quad I berlieve is random time between 1min and 3min (so 2 average).

      Does it still crash ? it used to crash all the time. I would be on for a minute or less, it would crash, then come back, stay on for a minute, it would crash again

      So far I like it better than Intertex, so if I ever feel like getting my ass wooped I can ask Sole to CTF. HEHEHE

          True, pub mode was added in effort to keep the natives "friendly". ;And yes like the amazons, there are bugs... i have had issues with spawn bugs, and map crashes with too many custom ents.. ack! Crazy b'cause none of this clobbers match mode! I'll track this down, as -- ctf is my mod of choice (next to RA..//ca is team-RA so shush)

            Found that on some maps e4m5 for example crashed because it couldnt find a spawnpoint for teams, this was because that map hadn't been converted to ctf, with flags, team spawnpoints etc. So, I uploaded all my ctf maps to the hdz box and now CTF.quakeone.com has all id maps with flags etc. Sole, my e1m1 rocks now; has balanced weapons and that silly secret door was nailed shut

              Anyone up for some PUB CTF tonight????? I'll idle ctf.quakeone.com if anyone is willing. Original id maps and runes etc.... monster? sole? frenzy? anyone?:d

                Just to clarify some things between ctf servers...

                CTF.QUAKEONE.COM is running crctf3.0 in "CLASSIC" mode:
                Quad ON
                Pent ON
                Ring ON
                Runes On
                Items are tossable ammo = impulse 21, weapon = impulse 20, runetoss = impulse 19
                Timelimit is 30
                Frag limit is 150

                Maps rotate after each game and currently only ID maps are in the rotation.
                No ctf paks are required.
                This server is purely for public play.. for every one.

                CRCTF.CLANHDZ.COM is running the exact same mod, just in MATCH mode.
                It requires the 3wave pak files for custom models and maps...

                Large pub ctf games like at hating, mtown, trinicom, etc were the best times for most quakers! So let's get some game going??!
                Both ctf.quakeone.com and crctf.clanhdz.com are running on the same box so theres not 1 server better than the other except the preferred mode.
                I'd suggest people play on ctf.quakeone.com and from there if players want to play a 3wave style MATCH converge to crctf.clanhdz.com

                I did tweak the autoexec.cfg on the pub port so that it will always start up in classic mode. Sometimes the server gets reset and ended up in match mode

                I'm off work sunday night, monday and tuesday... if anyone wants a game just find me...

                  unless you were incognito? we had great games; about 12 different people; had a 3v3 going for about an hour

                    I know I fell a sleep after watching a movie, I wok eup after 11:30 and everyone was gone. the map that was loaded had been loaded for 114 minutes, so i was at most that much late

                        spooker u need to play (or atleast look on the server to see if we are playing every day).....

                        we had great games though it was like 1 on 1 with some1 idle observer

                              +hook change

                              Okay after looking over my bellyhook version there are some exploits.

                              Comparing off-hand hook to the impulse 22 hook, I affirm, impulse 22 hook can only be re-fired at (time + 0.1), and cant be fired until any previous weapon's attack is finished, ie rl = (time + 0.8 ), this is hardly noticed since it takes about 0.5 sec to switch to hook and press fire. But "+hook" can fire the off-hand hook and or any weapon after that as fast as the player can mash the button. So, I'm going to force a time + 0.1 on the off-hand hook for re-firing, and wait until attacks by other weapons are finished before allowing the hook to deploy. If i shoot the rl, the belly hook wont shoot until ( time + 0.8 ), which is the same delay between shooting rl, switching to "impulse 22" hook, and holding the fire button. This might surprise players like Spooker, but levels the playing field of the two hooks, and the only advantage of using +hook, is that you dont have to switch weapons.
