LAST CLAN STANDING Tourney

I was thinking about rerunning the, I can't remember the name of it, but I think it was called the LAST CLAN STANDING tourney. The one Frenzy was going to run when he was running that clan for Gandalf. I can't remember the name of that clan.

My thoughts were it would be a bigger, longer version of Frenzy's sunday night 2v2 tourneys. A 4v4 clan version. Best of 5. Double Elimination with the losers bracket and the whole 9.

Maybe we could have this annually and play one match a week whittling down the clans until there's only one Clan left standing. That Clan would then be considered the Top Dog, da Bomb shizznit in the Quake community until they get dethroned.

Frenzy would help me set it up and run it.

best of 5 is a bit over doing it, best of 3 is much simpler.

It would be easier to run it like a Ladder Match system,which could be maintained a lot easier as well.Just require demo's or SS's for win's to be counted and progress on the ladder.

I kinda like best of 5. It doesn't take as long as you'd think usually. But if you think Best of 5 is just VIRTUAL INSANITY then we can discuss it I reckon. :d

Does doing these matches on a Friday work for everyone? We usually run these tourneys on a Friday night so the young members of our clans can play. I'm thinking the usual time of 7:30 PST(West Coast)| 9:30 (CST) MidWest |10:30(EST) East coast.

Any thoughts, objections, Suggestions?

how about everyone plays in the clan that they were in before these current clans. Example, baker, quad and mindz would represent that ihoc clan, sole would represent the zero clan, etc.

Uh, there were like 8 IHOC clans or so. IHOC is a mod.

There are a lot of players that used to play IHOC.
