hey... ok... so my idea is this. i want to start a 1v1 dm tournament open to anyone... us or euro it dont matter. i want to place 100$ cash of my OWN MONEY... CASH... up for first place. sign up are open to anyone. the format would be 1v1 dm. 10 mins. best of three maps. map pool would include the following: dm2, dm4, dm6, ztndm3, aerowalk, skull, ultrav. screenshots and demos would be required. my question is this... i dont have access to my own site... would anyone want to host it? could i use the format for ladders that the current ctf league is using? i'm open to any suggestions.... all feedback is welcome! lemme hear it! i know that i FOR SURE could get at least 15+ people i know to sign up!

Nice idea, DM is probably the favourite mode of gameplay in europe (RQ, CA, RA games are largely unheard of due to lack of player support) so you may well get a few people interested. I'll post it on to the Euroquake website for you if you like, to try and drum up some business.
It might be worth giving some thought on how you would solve the lag problem when the winner of the european players (my money is on Polarite or Dude) has to play a US opponent. Maybe have half the game played on a US server and the other half on flanders or even Bigfoot with both players pinging up to even things out?
Kind regards

O_o
great idea's burns! drum it up!! haha
yeah see that's what i was thinking. the only problem with making it for both NA and EURO invitational would be the ping problem. As far as i know there is no real in-between server. farthest east that i know of is phi1.suroot.com:26001. what server is closer as far as distance wise? bigfoot or flanders? and do they both run the newest clan ring mod? if anything, if it were to come down to a US player and a euro player in the final, we could play at a sever and +ping up to even out player pings... or, as in the case if to get enough dm players to sign up from europe, maybe have a final between the two countrys... then final match deciding outcome with pings even. cause we all know.... ping DOES make a differnce.......Fiction is the truth inside the lie...

As far as I know Bigfoot is now in Germany and Flanders was/is in Holland (unless Polarite has moved it). Their are other servers in Europe (QLair, Lawson, etc), but they seem to be the most well established. Polarite was recently talking about the idea of a DM tourney so as he is usually a good organiser he might be a good place to start.
