  • Quake Done Double Quick Lite

The following news item was submitted yesterday and I activated it on the home page, but may not be noticed below the lengthy top news item.

Sole was working on the server browser upgrade (and still is!) and I was working on projects and neither of us noticed the news submission.

The first 10 years since the shareware release of Quake have now passed. To celebrate the occasion, QdQ (Quake done Quick) releases a run on this day, Quake done double Quick lite.

It is a cooperative run though all of Quake on easy skill, finishing in 9:55.

Producing this run turned out to be a very difficult challenge; it took several years to get all the needed demos. Therefore, this release contains demos of varying style, quality, and skill. QdQ fans should find it enjoyable anyway

It isn't long until the 10 year anniversary of the full version of Quake. QdQ fans, hold your breaths

Anyways... Available both as Quake demos and AVI, here is Quake done double Quick lite

Also, you can visit QdQ at its brand new home right here,

So while you guys all have to fight your anti-matter counterparts, me and my evil twin will be drinking a beer laughing at you guys ...

    Add:

The direct download link is: QddQlite.avi 392 MB - AVI

It may require the XVID codec

    Aside: Archive.org hosts files????

They have an entire speedruns section, which is speedruns for lots of different runs, not just Quake.

Edit: XviD? That's unusual. Most speedruns hosted at SDA are DivX, with the occasional H.264 HQ vid.

I was just guessing. It doesn't say on the page. If it uses a codec and the codec is either DivX or XVid, it would really shock me if it were DivX because 3 years ago Jozsef explained to me how XVid is a lot better than DivX, and since he made many of the SDA movies and JoeQuake ... well, anyways.

Yes. XviD > DivX, and H264 > both of them.

That QDQ stuff is crazy!! They have to time everything down to the last millisecond. They jump off of monster's heads and stuff. Damn insane stuff they can pull off...

I was getting bootlegs of Bela Fleck off archive.org just yesterday (in FLAC/OGG format of course)
