The AxeBug

There was some discussion about the "AxeBug" today in Clan Arena, and suprisingly a lot of players didnt know about it,or what it was,so I figured I would make it easy on some players

Server : E.IHOC.NET
Method : Swing axe while standing still,before Axe finishes its swinging animation,start walking forward.You cant let go of forward unless you are strafing also.To help,I used chase_active 1 to help show what exactly the "Axe Bug" is.

you don't need CA to do it, that bug has been in quake since day 1.

The reason that this bug exists is that there are onl a certain number of frames the that model has. It's also animated as a 1 piece model, rather than in parts (head, body, legs, arms, gun) like Q3 is (and possibly Q2, but don't quote me on this) so you will get inconsistencies like this.

I've never been able to do it. Perhaps I should try chase_active 1.

when i try to play the dem, it says I cant cause the version of the saved game is -1 and my version is 5, or something like that.......

sounds like someone is still using dos quake..

EDIT: tried demo in qrack, plays fine

hah i dont use dos quake =P

*note , I just noticed when I played the demo,chase_active 1 didnt retain in the demo,so for those who dont know,enable chase_active 1 before playing the demo
i dont feel like making a movie out of the axebug
