    Here's a video I put together using DarkPlaces' cl_capturevideo command. I spent around 6-10 hours working on this (time flies when you're having fun). I feel no need to give any credit in this thread since the video has credits and it's less work for me not to

    ps - I'll be glad to point anyone in the right direction to get their quake to look like mine. And just so you know, the music you hear playing is the actual soundtrack I have playing automatically when I start quake.

          Towards the end of the video you had some of better stuff, I would have put that in the beginning, but I know how much work it is to do stuff like this.

            Originally it was just going to be me showing off what my darkplaces looks like through e1m1 to e1m7 but after a day I decided to put more in. Recording is hard for me because I get like 3 fps when capturing video. I can't capture video effectively while playing a demo either; for some reason it moves in slow motion.

            In any case, I spent enough time on it The next video will be better if I make another. I learn something new every time I make a video to make the next one more enjoyable to watch.

              I can have 250 fps in DarkPlaces, but when I go to capture a video it will drop to 9 FPS, which isn't fast enough to make anything except a jerky video So I have to load up JoeQuake or Qrack.

              I think the problem with video capture in DarkPlaces is that the built-in codec is inefficient, if I try to capture an uncompressed AVI in JoeQuake I experience problems similar to what happens in DarkPlaces.

                Looks good CS, well done

                Perhaps if you get a free minute or two would you mind posting a few links as I'm sure a few of us would be interested in where to get some of those textures/skins/models/etc.

                    Can you not play while recording a demo then playback the demo while recording to codec?

                      This is fixable. What you need to do is create an image which is the same filename but with _shirt in it (so player.tga would become player_shirt.tga), and then in that image, makke the areas that you want to not change with the shirt colour black, and then the part that you do want to change colour white or light grey (more white = more colour). Then do the same for _pants.

                        i think it was in final doom

                        where it set u in a HUGE maze with those bird firecaster things and you had to get to the middel of it
                        this was on of those levels where the summmery would have "time: sucks" on it
                        but the music was so strge for the level thats what creeped you out

                        it was like some lullaby melody all twisted and torn at the edges
                        i feel jumpy just thinking of it
