300 MB isn't a big size for a movie, it's pretty much the norm (unless the movie is really short like the Quakeworld.nu 1-minute movie competition ones).

/I might add, it IS possible to upload movies of this size to Google video with their upload software (not the browser-based upload, which has a 100 MB cap).
