I recorded this demo and the map changed. Does it normally cut off there?

I think it depends on the quake engine you're using. If darkplaces, it will continue (I THINK). But I'm sure proquake does not.

Watch ur demo and tell us ( plus ur engine)

i think with proquake it keeps eating up hard disk space but you can't actually watch it past the map change

I think there is a way to correct this problem if you have the demo. Normally it will hang up at the level change, but I thing editing the file will fix it. There was some demo editing program I used a long time ago that would fix the problem for you.

This demo tool (http://speeddemosarchive.com/quake/q...s/demtool.html) has an option for fixing demos that don't start correctly on certain maps. I may be getting confused with this. You may also be able to edit the demo to extract the section after the level change and it play back correctly.

There are other gui based demo tools that may more easily allow you to extract parts of the demo and get it working. I couldn't quickly find them though.

Okay. I found the demo tools I was thinking of.

              KeyGrip

              FilmAt11

Film at 11 will split a demo automatically by level changes. Just use the split command and it will prompt you if it detects a level change.
