  • Anyone recognise these trick maps?

Does anyone have a link to either the full video or ideally the map(s) used to make following movie...

    Source file: http://gamefiles.virginmedia.com/blu...rick2movie.avi

I know the performer says at the beginning of the movie words to the effect of "you will never play this map" but I was wondering if things had maybe changed over time or the map had 'leaked' out. It looks like fun especially for talented people like Pol, Peg and Corty but I think most of us would benefit from the practice. So if you have it and could point me to it then please let me know.

    Kind regards

    Monty

It might be one of those: http://downloads.teqnohaxor.com/quake/maps/
But keep in mind that all those were designed for QuakeWorld and might not be possible to finish in Netquake environments.

Thanks Spirit, you're a diamond - I'll take a look when I get home. It still might be fun to see Peg and Pol try though

It's designed for QW, you can tell by how he gets speed from jumping.

Darn it! However, I wouldn't be surpised if Pol,Peg or corty find a way of making it. Physics mean nothing to these people!
It looked like such a good training ground for quake players
Perhaps one of the mappers might consider such a map which could be used by new players coming to the game or existing players to warm up/ hone their skills. It wouldn't have to be anything flash - just the basics.

              Kind regards

The alternative is for me to play Polarite and get blasted ove walls, jumps or from one end of the map to the other, no... wait... that's what normally happens

I think Tical suspected as much. If you happen to spot the map name then please let me know.

                      Thanks

I think Zop would have some fun making some trick maps for netquake? Very possible...

Zop's a top man and no mistake and if he puts something like this together then it would be real fun to try it out. Somebody also mentioned the mighty Polarite's name in connection with doing something similar.

I seem to recall seeing a much longer version of this video somewhere and it appeared to be a whole mod of trick maps where you could select which trick you wanted to practice but there was some definite 'direction' through the levels. Some of the trick maps I've seen on the link Spirit very kindly provided seemed much more random as to which way you made your way around the level. This is fine as it will encourage experimentation, variation and freestyling but if the intention to help someone focus and learn how to get the most out of a specific weapon/move then on the face of it these maps seem to have the edge in that respect.

                          Kind regards

                          Monty

P.S. @Zop : I couldn't find the specific hook pull code you mentioned so if you have any further ideas I'd be grateful if you could let me know. Thanks as always
