Quake DVD cover

Some days ago i saw in a german website a custom Quake cover.
I said "It's ugly, i can do it better"
so me and Photoshop created this.
if you like it, print it and use it

My mind is to create a Megapack with an installer where you can choose installation of new textures, HUD, weapons, and so on... Many people say that is difficult to get work mods on Darkplaces!
then it can be put on the Internet with this cover

yeah great job! You left out the GT Interactive Logo though ! Google it

They published quake i believe (distribution rights) They always had a small logo stamp somewhere on their gaming cases. I have the original Quake Cd from 96 at home i can look at it when and confirm if there is anything else missing.

Why do you present this as your own work when you ripped the "quake family" part from the original creator (can't remember at the moment)?

i think he means the DVD cover is his work as a whole. He probably didnt create a few of those things but combined them all together into "his own vision".

I said that i found it on a german website "Quake.de" if my brain is still sane.
But that cover is quite different from mine!

Yeah, I don't think inkub0 is in this for originality-points but more for service to us fellow Quakers.

He made a good looking DVD case cover, he kept true to the subject matter and even though the monster montage was re-used from id's website, I don't think he was just sneaking it in there in hopes of duping everybody.

Cover design is not stricly a "recreation" from scratch.
The cover designer mounts pieces of "already seen" graphics to create something new.

in example

The great "Q" is a trace of the old "Q from the original boxset. i added a more sturated colour, a new texture on it, and a black background.

if somebody dont like the "monster family" i can put something other there... maybe an image from "Quake reforged" website?

Shub Niggurath should be 75% faded in the far background (behind the Q logo). Then it'd be even cooler!
