Now that is just amazing.
The colour usage is true to quake 4sho.But I do believe he has pecks.. and not "A" cups

A few notes;

Depth of field is definitely a *must*, and it wasn't too hard to implement in this one (for one thing, running around this guy through those cloisters again and again you can easily gauge the perspective!);
Plus, it creates an excellent sense of scale.

I was thinking about musculature, but decided it makes more sense that a creature who spends most of his time lingering around in his bathtub and being virtually hand-fed sacrifices on a regular basis, he probably wouldn't get much exercise, so I packed on the flab instead

Besides, a hair-drier makes sense- it er, blows air- and he um, came out of the bathtub, so... that marine was trying to pacify him for taking away his favorite bathroom ornament!

The lava should get more out of focus as it goes out though. ;p

Seriously amazing work here though.

Also, spot on with this:

My favorite part about this work is that in it I worked with multiple light sources- The glow coming from the pool below, the burning fires coming from inside his maws, and a dim light from above- having some experience in photography I had an idea of how multiple lights and shadows worked, so I spent ages trying to balance them out.
It was also an experience working with ambient lighting.

It makes the Chthon seem much bigger and better. Now looking at it in game he seems meh
