Mark, FRAPS and Virtuadubmod ! Qrack might be able to output AVI files somehow instead of Quake DEMO file's......


I would like it if I automatically was working with AVI file's.

Qrack was the client used !!! If you noticed a variation FPS output, my Qrack does that for some reason.

set gl_detail 0 (off), useless waste of fps (fake bump mapping)

use mdl models instead (gl_loadq3models 0) for faster rendering.

cl_teamskins 0 (off) = faster as 1 (on) draws each player 3 times; once for each texture.

Use a skybox instead of r_skyscroll 1, for pretty skys that render faster than default quake1 skys.

r_novis 0 (off) culls the world so you arent drawing the entire world each frame.

Yeah. I also like the dirt texture at the mound. Good stuff. As much as I don't want to, I think I'm gonna reload my computer. I need to upgrade my linux OS anyway. Suppose if I want to have qrack I'll have to dual boot and use Winbloze just for gaming.

dualboot would work, but i would just run virtualbox for linux. or vice versa, but who am I kidding I would just stick to windows

I thought about using a virtual OS but the 3d acceleration support was quite limited the last time I checked..

Windows main OS, and virtual OS linux for everything else.

Windows gives uncanny gaming access, so it should in most cases be the dominate operating system.... You spend more time fiddling with shit in linux than quaking, in terms of getting at the newer things like newest Qrack, and the upcoming DirectQ release!!!

The shaft image is actually just 3 straight lines ( ||| ) the code literally bends the shaft into the erratic shape. This disallows h4x0rz from manipulating the media into a "straight shaft" hack

Mindzx - You're right in terms of gaming..but otherwise I feel that linux is much more powerful.

Rook - Wow, umm I've never heard of the straight shaft hack. Would you elaborate please?

Straight shaft hack was replacing the model of the lightning bolt with a straight line. This simplified the aim of the lightning gun.
