I see you're missing a texture for the key!

      Teh ORL maps.
Quakeone.com - Being exactly one-half good and one-half evil has advantages. When a portal opens to the antimatter universe, my opposite is just me with a goatee.

So while you guys all have to fight your anti-matter counterparts, me and my evil twin will be drinking a beer laughing at you guys ...

Yes, NOW we are talking turtlevan

You are very close to your target, having the max DP experience.
Slightly more effects in your clip would have been nice though.

        Kind regards,
        Seven

Pardon my obvious ignorance, but where can I get this (COOP) and this map? Darkplaces and the graphic options look great!

Yea ooppee, thats a mistake I made trying to edit the models and textures of QRP and RYGEL together. I'm trying to make one .pk3 with all the content i need. The gfx, progs, & scripts folders too. I'm using a bunch of sevens HUD stuff and pk3s. I wanna figure out a few things now:

I need ooppees kickable/gibbable gibs & gore mod

Someone to explain to me what the 4 types of images for the same model are. (Bump Gloss Image and something else) Like why are there 4 images of a fiend. I realize they are to give highlights & depth effects.

How to change the flag to 8 of the key model so it spins. (or just how to edit models in general)

How to get my "newfire" 2'd torches to replace all the torches even on these random coop maps - not just the ID1 maps

How to import the water caustics from Engine x, and the fire effects from Qrack and the rain from Qrack

How to get various colors onto my new High definition player model so that he isn't just brown all the time. (he has bullet holes, tatoos & a silver axe - thanks to disco for that)

How to get the increased FPS of romi/inkobu rt lights on the custom coop maps.

Things I've already done: gone into the QRP & Reforged sets and brightened/darkened some of the textures that i thought looked out of place - made the fiend darker and the scrag brighter for example.

Thanks seven, I'm just testing it out trying to find a good combination for filming. I guess youtube only shows 30fps, so I will lock my framerate at 30 for HD recording.

Then I can enable more settings and never have the FPS drop below 30. Still editing up the quake packs and stuff to get some better visuals. I want to figure out how to edit your effects info.txt to make some effects as pronounced as the scrag's green slime and the deathknights fire trails. I particularly like the deathknights fire trails when you see them in QRACK. I also found you can add the effects content of other engines by this:

            darkplaces.exe -game enginex.

Thanks to Bluntz for that tip. Check it out.

Gdiddy. Thanks for writing me. You can download coop from this site - quakeone.com. It's in the maps section called Rquake Team Cooperative map pack coop.runequake.com:26003 EZ installer

Then Darkplaces is a quake engine made by lordhavoc also available to link thru quakeone.com

Read the forums to find the addons! It's ez man. Shoot me an email and I'll link you to all the .pk3's

Click play on this movie to see effects: (I need to make higher quality uploads - which will come in the future)

              Dear turtlevan,

Let me try to help you with some of your questions.

1.) Until OoPpEe has his "extremely gore" mod ready, you can use this pre-final.
I just implemented gibbable corpses and kickable gibs
It gives you really much blood !

2.) Yes, your idea was correct. The 4 mainly used texture types are:
              - blah.tga (= diffuse texture = main texture)
              - blah_norm.tga (normal texture for offset)
              - blah_gloss.tga (for shiny look (sometimes plastic though))
              - blah_glow.tga (or _luma.tga for glowing effect (very nice in dark areas))

3.) I explained it in detail here

4.) If you use my mod from point 1.) you will have the beautiful torchlight in ALL maps, that dont bring their own progs.dat with them.

5.) LOL, that is not an easy task. Ask r00k and LH for support.
Fog can easily be implemented in DarkPlaces though.
              Use this as a start:
              fog .3 .32 .25 .2 .6 20 2000 1500 30
Or read here about it, if you want to implement it into .ent files
(then you dont have to use the "fog" command everytime !)

6.) I think I know this High Res skin
OoPpEe knows the secret to make skin multiplayer-able.

7.) Specialist for this is inkub0 (OoPpEe is of course also quite good in it).
It means much handwork and effort to get the real touch.
If you want to start doing it by yourself, read the TUT how to do it here

8.) Its a minute to learn, a lifetime to master.
Read about the basic functions here

If you want to do all these points, there is still a lot to do.
Sorry if I could not answer everything.

              Kind regards,
              Seven

AWESOME! Thanks for your help will all the points, and thanks for the gibable corpse mod. Now I have lots of reading and fiddling to do.

Thanks in particular for this point 8.

I feel like I can create my own quake effects now. And now realize that many different people took a lot of time to program all the existing effects into this.

                  Turtlevan,
Thanks, I'll email you shortly with some questions. I know darkplaces and the other engines, I just didn't know about the coop stuff. I'm slowly learning where things go and how to implement them and I'm impressed with all the talent here.
                  Regards
