Similarly, you used to be able to do this on the junker Quake deathmatch plus server because (i believe) the server speed was set to at least 600. You could actually outrun your own rocket Failing that, should the mood take you, you could switch to guided rockets and steer your own rocket around the entire level and back in to your own face.

                all good fun

Nice vid TV. Let's have some more trick vids please

guided rockets are the holy grail of gameplay.

Teleportals that "Teleport" "projectiles" like Nails,Nades, and Rockets, was a staple of a RQ variant, that I can not now remember. Ahhh, the good ole days.

                  BeatDown ? Singed ? RQ+ ? RQA ? HMmmm

                    Hi Mindzy,

Strangely enough there is still a Quake 1 DMP server up. For those that don't know and maybe tempted to try it out on the familiar "start" map ..
                    Code:
[LIST=1][*]Open Quake[*]go in to console [*]type connect flanders.servequake.com:26002[*]press 6 to join the game[*]Pickup the RL and some rockets and then use impulse 22 ([COLOR="Orange"]*[/COLOR]) to select the guided rockets.[/LIST]
The end result could look something like this...

Sorry about the music, Youtube disabled my original choice and I only had time to use one of their soundtracks.

                    * impulse 23 is for the homing rockets but you would obviously need an opponent to join before you could properly test this out. Additionally for those that prefer weapon toggling type impulse 150 to enable it.
Rockets DO go through teleports on this server. To test this go in to the main room with the 4 passageways leading off, stand in front of the teleporter and face it before firing your rocket in to the teleporter. Then wait

While you're in there, if you see a glowing disembodied arm holding an axe, I suggest you grab it and try your heavier weapons again such as your RL and GL. All good fun

                    Have fun

                    Monty

we should play dmp on that bookoo or what ever map, the one where its a jungle setting in grassy mossy castle ruins tons of good spots to stand it to fire guided missiles

Thanks for letting me know Rook. I'll let Polarite know.
                          [Edit: I've emailed him]

Incidentally this is an updated version of that mod and has the RQ hook, eyecam and map voting very kindly added by Zop. Unfortunately there are quite a number of bugs which I dont have the QuakeC expertise at present to fix so we'll have to bare with it I'm affraid. It's a shame as this showed some real promise but I'm greatful to Zop for taking it as far as he did

                          Kind regards

                            Hi Metch

Fortunately it's a server side mod and I believe should be useable on any normal quake1 map. I think I might still have access to the server so if you can let me have the details of the exact map you are after I'll see if a) it can be used, b) is good quality map and c) liase with the mighty Polarite to get it uploaded.

You have to pick your spot carefully and sometimes be a little creative as when your rocket is in flight youre player actually glows in a similar way to when you have got quad and therefore you tend to stand out quite a bit. This is only the the case when using your Guided Rocks as with your normal RL and the Homing Rockets your player remains unaffected. As I recall there is a finite limit of the the number of "homies" you can have in the air at any one time else the server just can't handle it. However, although I'm not a big fan of Homies it's fun the first time you see all your boys suddenly turn and automatically go for your opponent the moment they walk in to the room

                            Kind regards
