Hello, Does anyone know how to get music working in DirectQII? I have put the music in baseq2/music in .ogg format and .mp3 and it still doesn't want to work.
Is there documentation somewhere stating that it was implemented yet? I know DirectQ II was definately a WIP, and unfortunately for the moment MH has fallen off our Radar. He'll be back!
I have looked and could not find any documentation on DirectQII. It only redirects to DirectQ. Thanks for the instant reply. The reason I am asking is because I want a Quake 2 source port that is close to vanilla Quake 2 that supports music and widescreen resolutions. DirectQII is perfect except you know... the no music part. I tried kmquake2 but it seems like they changed the graphics around.
I cant offer any support for DirectQ II because I'm an avid DirectQ fan, but what I CAN do, under the pre-tense that I've never used it and don't know anything about it hook you up with what I DO have,MH handed off to me a preview of DirectQ II progress along side with a preview of DirectQ progress as of 11-11-2012, I don't know if it will do you any good, but I'll atleast make this much effort Who knows, maybe it has your sought after music support.
This is the original archive as sent to me, re-hosted at my favorite file host.
It contains DirectQ and DirectQ II exe's.
PS : DirectQ II documentation would be found in his blogspot, thats the best source of info on it. I don't know if you have read them, but DirectQ II was heavily a subject right before his going MIA... http://mhquake.blogspot.com/
I just looked and the last offering of DirectQ II came from 11-29-2012 , my offering is obsolete. Sorry bro. I tried
If Quake2 uses CD audio, you'd need to make a replicant Quake2 audio CD like you would for Q1.... 1st track is always data, you'd need a filler track to get things lined up correctly.
