So I was cleaning up my CD collection and found my old CD for this game.
I bought this game like in 2008 in a bargain bin at a book store. Back when the game 1st game out it ran so fn slow and horrible load times i really never played it much.

I was bored yesterday and fired it up! If you see this game on sale sometime grab it, cause its pretty cool!

It is indeed a great game... but I never finished it as I really got bored by the puzzle bosses.

A part of that... great graphics, great gameplay, great music, great weapons, great story...
It is also sold at gog.com.

Yes, indeed.

... and the interesting thing about Painkiller is, that all the successors that followed after the original Painkiller never really changed a thing gameplay-wise.
The successors always contained material from modders and even sometimes only was made from these materials.

The newest Painkiller game is build on a new engine (Unreal 3) with great visuals, but still:
It still feels like the original.

You have to decide by yourself if this is good or bad...

At least, the last part got quite good review results again (almost like the 1st game). Which was not the case for many others in the series.

Painkiller series is great
The big Bosses are just fun to kill...

And at the moment i am also doing a PK Battle Out Of Hell speedrun...

For me it's the best fast paced FPS ever, simply because it has the best of everything: it combines Quake's raw speed and tricky shortcuts/secrets with Serious Sam's variety of monsters and guns, and adds it's own fantastic level design!

Black Edition by gog is the best deal. It has the expansion pack Battle Out Of Hell as well. All the other Painkiller games, those came after, were either mediocre at best, like Overdose, or total garbage, like Resurrection.

The new Painkiller HD is fail: 10 levels only, no level backtracking after finishing the game, no custom saves, painkiller-jumps not possible, wall-climbs not possible, too many NEW invisible walls added.

good game but the older versions have a big problem on newer OS

you have to constantly delete the auto saves and extra saves you have AS YOU GO.. or else game gets stuck in a bug where it crashes on ur next checkpoint or crashing upon loading saves...

got very irritating to have to micro manage the save files JUST TO be able to play the game... killed it for me... Now GoG has a newer version, Not the one that makes you Pay for DLC and has half of the levels missing...


i think it's Black edition that is supposed to be good... without content chopped out and stuff
