Doom 3 coop question!

Doom 3 on steam for just 2,5 Euro ATM.
There is this OpenCoop mod, but what i don't know is it meant to be played online through steam client or via LAN?

Anybody know? Time is running SHORT.

since doom 3 in on sale ill pick it up, then look into the coop mod. ill post back when ive got it all sorted out, then we can work out a time.

doom3 opencoop is great ^^
i played it a couple of times with a friend, its fun

id gladly join for a game of coop doom3


also, it will run through doom3 itself, not through the steam client, cuz its a doom3 mod.
so to play it you run doom3 and then click mods at bottom and select opencoop.
and then one person starts a server and the other people connect to that person and they all need to have the opencoop mod loaded in their doom3 too.


also yes, it should run fine through lan too, cuz one person starts an opencoop server and the others join by connecting to the host's IP

I have finished the steam version of Doom 3 OpenCoop with a friend on LAN! All worked perfectly fine!

You can not spawn endlessly like in Quake, you have to collect health and add it in the health pool, from which you can take 100 health to spawn if you die. Nice!

Sadly Resurrection Of Evil OpenCoop will not work on steam version, so you have to make it run on a retail version, and even then it will be buggy - the heart artifact does not work in OpenCoop properly - it does not slow time like it is supposed to. You have to cheat with noclip in two places to finish the game as well as in the last level Hell you have to cheat again.. Fail.

And i have found out that there is another Doom 3 coop mod out there:

This lies in the nature of that powerup - it was not designed for multiplayer. You can't slow down the game for one player only - think about it - because what would happen to the other player? Suddenly you have two independent timelines in the game.

that would be utterly amazing...

hardest doom 3 mod ever... seriously... like you almost absolutely want to do that in coop
