  • New Quake II map in development

The first map of the project is finished!
I will soon start developing the second map using TrenchBroom.

I've gathered all in-game screenshots I've made during development of the first map, which you can find at the new website:

Quake II: Zero Signal update #18 | Digital Distress

All future updates will be posted on the new Digital Distress website in the 'News' section from now on so if you want to follow the latest developments, be sure to visit it regularly.

    Cheers!

Very cool, nice looking terrain. I'll be keeping up to speed on this, I'd like an excuse to fire up Quake2 again every now and then.

You actually used the word "excuse". You act as if Quake 2 was an evil product... I'm just playing. I know that you didn't mean it literally... I definitely know what you mean... Quake 2 will always be a great game. I love the view... The terrain looks wonderful!

Looking good! I look forward to seeing the finished product. Quake II will always have a truly special place in my heart so it's great to see people still designing for it.
Command, I got a problem here...

Looking very sweet. YOu made the right move with trenchboom. It's hot keys and easy of brush manipulation makes it a given for complex terrain. Also, you could spice it up a bit with Terrain Generator by Nem. Its quite nice. Also Quark has a terrain generator addon based strongly on Nem's tool. And it imports quite nicely into Quark as an addon when finished for further editing! Can't wait to see more development! I love Quake 2!

Thanks! Well I'm planning to make a 4-level pack so it might take a while for the project to be completed but I'll make sure to post regular updates on my site so you can keep track of the progress.
