Oh yeah Primal, I'm going over everything. Got some good toys, as well as crafted items, now I'm loving all the interactivity elements(tracker, hacker, scanner etc's), I just need to improve my stealthiness!!! And decision making.

OMG, the first REAL encounter with the ALIEN on the loose, that... was... intense.

As far as the saves, meh... you're just better than ME! Whaaaaaaaaaaaa... lol

Okay, time to realize this may not be the game for me I might not have enough patience seeing as tonight I practically "rage quitted" and then deleted the fuggin' game!!!

      grrrr...

Oh dear. Perhaps I was overzealous in my recommendation. It really is for those who like the stealth genre. So yes, patience is a virtue here. But most of the frustrations with the Alien come in the beginning because you aren't well equipped. This becomes less of a factor about a 1/3 of the way in. You get a nice little toy that more or less evens the playing field. Also, bare in mind that the fear you have that is likely making you stay put more than move is mostly unfounded. Even tho the alien is mostly unpredictable it does suffer from some glaring AI problems that you can exploit to advance. My guess is you are at a point where its you vs. the Alien and you have to make it through some long distance travel to your destination. I also had trouble with these until i realized how easy it was to distract.

Distract him with a flare. Then as you sneak away throw a few behind you. The alien will stop to look at each one as long as you make little noise. And although its very slow, utilize crouch walking when you can even for escapes. On hard the Alien can "hear" just about any sound you make even if its distracted it will immediately come running. But if you crouch walk, you are completely silent and run little chance of making additional noise for it to track. Also don't knock stuff over! It can also hear it when you knock stuff over. I hope you will wind down and install it again.

Certainly the stealth genre is not for everyone but I think you can hack this one. Just play it in little bites. Otherwise its easy to get real frustrated. But like I said, once you find a particular toy it will make you much less scared of moving around because you will have a semi equalizer you can use to scare the alien away if it does indeed see you during your travels. It makes sneaking around less intense and manageable. Actually there are two cool toys that make this possible. Both give you a nice achievement for using on the alien.

        Good luck!

It wasn't just your recommendation Primal, DaZ seemed to love it to. I'll give it a few more tries before I forgo the game and just watch a longplay of it on youtube.

thats what I am doing, lol. I'll progress a bit, get annoyed at either lack of accomplishment/progression, or lack of alien interactions. then I'll go fire up titanfall and rodeo some noobs titan like this

Alien Isolation is an excellent game its just extremely unforgiving, exactly how a horror survival / an Alien game should be imo.

Damage you could always just click this ; Alien: Isolation Complete Walkthrough and Game Guide | Coverage | Primagames.com

That would keep you in the "interactive movie" type gameplay while still giving you the satisfaction you did it, even if read in a guide. Nothing wrong with guides. They are perfect for when you still want the story line to progress but want to keep all your hair attached to your head during that process! Sooner or later I'll just end up following the guide to reach goal.

That's it, man. Game over, man! Game over! What the fuck are we gonna do now?

Number one rule of any game is it has to be FUN! With Alien Iso I stopped having fun. Granted I was playing on hard, was that is, and since went and restarted from the beginning playing on easy. It made little difference on my enjoyment.

While I realize it's mostly me and my game playing it's not at all an uncommon experience. At least from forum post's and 'tube video's I've watched.

It's to bad today's games restrict "cheats" because it would be nice to just play through to see all the amazing visuals and cutscenes.

BTW, when I'm running for my life scared as hell, WHY da fuq is climbing in a locker, panic'd, so freakin' LOUD! And especially getting out.

GCW has been in the past and present the only place I get trainer's from.

Well well well... I finally made progress. I know, I know, said I was done! But damn, the game is so badass looking I want to see it in first person POV A youtube'rs longplay just wasn't cutting it.

There's still some frustrating moments but I'm pretty far into now and have developed a better sense since I have RELAXED a bit. I was too paranoid and simply looking for the Alien to get me all the time. And sometimes my key presses get mixed up when he's so terrifyingly close that I mis-press a VITAL key combination and up DEAD.

Ex: I press "E" to search a container in a room, I hit "R" to take all. Usually when you can take all it closes your interaction with that object! BUT... some items I have maxed out in my inventory so the menu is not closed automatically THEN... the Alien stomps in and I want to hide under a bed but I'm STUCK, as I need to press "Q" to exit and then I can move... But I forget to press "Q" so I'm just a sitting duck. This is all tension/panic related but with having those 6 keys(w,a,s,d and q,e) multi-functional it's easy to do. At least for me.

I'm only slightly better at effectively using items against the Alien, but it buys enough time for me to do what needs doing. Also I use(shoot) people as a tactic, but don't kill them... that way the Alien takes 'em out for me!

Anyways, been the best day so far and really enjoyed it for the most part. Got past the "Alien is gonna kill you now" only area. Where I could walk around casually and soak up the atmosphere. Which is stunning in every aspect.

Remember seeing this stream and the alien not killing him, was great.

Although i guess since then this bug has been patched.

Looks like a good game though, that train part of the game got me.

                          5/10 kinda spooky
I am like a stray dog, lost in between what I do and what I should do.
But sometimes, all you need is Imagination.

Yeah i noticed those panels were often glitched. One other glitch i noticed was if you active the ventilate from them you would get the effect on your screen of walking through fog even though you weren't actually walking through any. It was quite annoying so I avoided using these panels whenever possible. Luckily they aren't needed that often. They may have fixed them but I just assume keep avoid using them. But I haven't had the problem where the alien wouldn't attack you. LOL!

Welp, finished my HARD palythrough today, Primal will be so proud, hehe! Such awesomeness that game is. I enjoyed it just as much the second go 'round Maybe even more!

Even though I was rage quitting(lol ) early on in the first run, once I changed up my play style I would have to say this may be the best first person "perspective" game I have ever played. While there are valid criticisms, if you add up everything it does beautifully it's just a stunning master piece of gaming. Or actually, it's more of an experience. And if you play it s such the criticisms fall by the
                              wayside rather quickly.

It's just amazing technically(game engine), graphically(texturing and special effects), auditorily(sound effects and musical score) and environmentally(level design). Anyone else on here playing/played it?

                                Also, saving for a Rift.

Well done on your hard mode completion.

@sb306, Sorry I missed your reply.
I was thinking more survival horror than shooter.
It is a sad thing when projects get started then abandoned.
