Battlezone I and II Still lives!

Hi guys, im new here but im lurking this site it makes years

(Yeah im a quaker since 96/97 when my father buyed a pc with a 56kbps modem + Q1 compressed in some 1/4 flopy-disk thx to my cousin)

i think that Everyone heared about or played back in the 90's and still play these awesome games, but here it goes!

Battlezone and Battlezone 2: Combat Commander were 2 masterpieces created by Activision/Pandemic back in the days when Activision wasn't a bunch of corrupt bastards and when they cared about us Gamers

Ken Miller is Doing a 1.5 Patch for BZ1 with fixes some of the 1.4 errors + a Win7 Support with Directx9++

And Battlezone II has the 1.3PB patches thx to Ken and Nathan Mates

The community still alive and strong as ever!

Cool! I remeber playing battlezone back in the 80s, the 1st vector graphics game i ever saw!

It's always cool to hear from players on other planets than our own

BZ was excellent game, the one and only succesfull action/strategy I've seen.
I wonder if some eye-candy modifications for BZ exist, is there something like "DarkPlaces for Battlezone"?

im talking with ken about this, to add more graphical features for bz, but this is for a future patch

or if Lord havoc help when he finish up dark places

It would take a lo-o-ong time to do since Havok still haven't done water caustics yet - just for example
There always will be something to do better than it already exists, so I myself don't want Havok to finish DP cause that will stop further modification of the game. However, Havoc already did fantastic amount of work.

By the other hand, I don't think that it would be easy to adopt DP engine to run BZ game mechanics even if it is possible at all.

I used to play BZ at the arcade around 1980-81 it sat next to space invaders
asteroids and Defender !!!
It was the first 3d game and was a wireframe tank FPS.

There's Too BZE(Battlezone Enhanced)

Bz Enhanced 1.3 is based on BattleZone while attemping to seperate the old stuff from the new. Bz Enhanced 1.3 adds such things as Chinese and ISDF races, new planets, maps, expanded editor, bug fixes and new features such as more host controls and higher bandwidth for reduced lag online. New security features such as Anti-Poser in game, full asset checking, asset encryption and passwords are no longer in readable form.
