  • Hammer of Thyrion screen flicker (hexen II)

I had the same problem with darkplaces a while ago discussed in this thread:

    http://quakeone.com/forums/quake-hel...flicker-2.html

    Never found a cure.

I just tried hammer of thyrion and am getting the same issue. Anyone else having this issue of the screen flickering everytime a level loads? If I tab out of Hexen and go back, the flicker stops, but it happens again once I enter a new map section.

Using the latest version and running the gl exe. The software one works fine.

Make sure the game is running in 32 bpp and not 16 (already known problem with ATI cards on windows. and I am assuming that you are running on windows and have your desktop at 32 bpp.)

ok. If that's the one that toggles between 16-bit and 32-bit, then I tried that already.

I am assuming that you did "apply changes" after toggling the menu entry. If that is the case, file a bug report on the project page with as much detail as possible, as to what OS, what graphics card+driver, whether fullscreen and windowed mode make a difference, independence of resolution, etc. We'll see what we can do, as time permits.

                I did apply changes.

I added a post to the forum. Wasn't sure how to make a bug report.

Also, parts of the crusader's ice staff comes out completely transparent.

I figured out how to post a bug report and did.

I hope you are following your bug report: posted a test build there and need your feedback.

The issue is fixed in the svn repository as of rev.4629:
                    https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?fun...roup_id=124987
The fix will be integrated in the next release.
